With a J.D. from Stetson Law and a Ph.D. in linguistics from Northwestern, Colleen has spent more than 10 years working across multiple counties (i.e. Manatee, Orange, and Hillsborough) in Florida, serving families as a family lawyer in a legal aid organization, a lawyer in the Guardian ad Litem Office, and as an Assistant Public Defender. Besides being a bilingual, licensed attorney (fluent in Spanish and English) and a certified mediator, she is an adoptive mother and has been a teacher who worked with underrepresented populations.
